It’s the summer of 2020. A man passes a fake $20 bill at a convenience store and has the cops called on him as a result. The man resists. Depending on who you ask dictates the public perception. Regardless, the death of this man who was resisting arrest triggered a firestorm of anti-police and anti-law rhetoric that found its way to the liberal wing of our government.
Fast-forward five years later. The federal government has directed its ICE agents to track down and arrest all of the people who came into this country illegally. It’s not unreasonable to surmise that many of these people who came here, were seeking a better life. However, there were plenty of criminals who came in along with them. All did so the wrong way and at taxpayer expense.
The major cities which have harbored these illegals (and put the lives of innocent people at risk in the process) have kept their law enforcement agencies from assisting ICE which has resulted in a lot of people becoming emboldened in their attempts to deter and prevent illegals being arrested.
However, there have been those who have supported ICE’s mission and trying to do their part to assist. This has included businesses. One such business has been Old State Saloon based in Eagle, Idaho.
To the Conservative base, they are doing the Lord’s work. On the other side, the Liberal supporters see them as pariahs.
It’s not simply due to their values or beliefs on immigration. It’s the promotion they put out to help remove those who are in this country illegally. Which is why the restaurant and bar began its “Free Beer for a Month” promotion on November 29th for anyone who had credible information leading up to the deportation of an illegal immigrant.
Naturally, there was backlash from the same crowd that has spent the last five years advocating for the dismantling and defunding of law enforcement agencies. Since these same people feel a certain kind of way towards the current administration and its policies, it was not surprising to see them blast Old State Saloon for its promo.
The crazy thing has not only been the slew of bogus reviews and hateful messaging, but rather the use of slurs and derogatory terms used by the complainants while calling the proprietors of Old State Saloon racists and Nazis.
Take a minute to wrap your mind around that.
The reality is simple: these people don’t give a damn about who is being deported. Honestly, if our society wasn’t as connected as it is today through social media, would they even know what is going on? Probably not.
Yet, under the guise of inclusion and diversity, lies the violent nature of the leftist pundits who have bought into the false messaging of the progressive Left. Threats have been made towards Old State Saloon that have ranged from arson to murder.
Imagine being so hateful, you resort to a dark place such as threats of violence.
However, despite the criticism and the ugly threats, Old State Saloon takes them in stride and posts the tweets, voice mails and the negative reviews on its X timeline to show just how despicable some people are in our society.
Misguided. Repulsive. Evil. Those making threats really do come across as low-IQ and in dire need of a better education. Yet, conservatives are called deplorable. Right.
On the flip side, Old State Saloon has received plenty of support for its promotion.
At the end of the day, this type of violent rhetoric is unacceptable. Those who have been making these threats should be investigated and charged for their actions. Of course, if the state has a moronic justice system like here in Virginia, you can get elected to Attorney General after making threats to kill a former House Speaker and pissing on his grave.
This is the type of behavior that led to the assassination of Charlie Kirk. If left unchecked, more people will be hurt in the future. They are already being targeted just because they embrace different ideals than others.
As for the Old State Saloon: this blog salutes you and fully endorses what you are doing.
