Sanctuary cities. Liberal policies. Blatant disregard for the law. Put them together and you have a recipe for disaster when it comes to enforcement. The crazy thing is we have laws for legal status and immigration in this country. However, since Joe Biden let in almost 8.5M people during his time in office, we have been met with arguments as to why they should be allowed to come here and stay. Most of those arguments have been made by deep blue cities and states.

That is a lot of people to track down and deport. Especially when the next administration comes in with the pledge to send them to their home country. The cost of having them here is a burden on the American taxpayer. Per FairUS.org, American tax payers shell out $151B a year.

Given the rising cost of prices, the reasonable person should be asking why are funding this?

The solution would seem simple: bounce any who came here illegally back to their original home of record. That seems to have been the case but in many cities, ICE agents have been met with resistance and even assault when they have tried to make an arrest for the purposes of deportation.

It was just a few days ago, ICE agents transporting someone they arrested were rammed by two individuals in an SUV in an attempt to free the person in custody. Both occupants were charged and branded as domestic terrorists.

It should be noted that the incident described above and the video clip above it both occurred in Chicago. Those incidents have not been isolated either.

All across the country, civilians are actively engaging ICE agents. They are either protesting and blocking access into the federal facilities or doing whatever they can to free someone who is being arrested. It has become so problematic that an executive order was generated to protect the agents in the course of their duties.

However, it has not done much to help. Civilians are still interfering with arrests. Perhaps they feel emboldened by the politics of those who created the sanctuary cities. Maybe they feel like nothing will happen to them because they feel their actions are just.

The reality is this: they will be going before a federal judge and any hopes of having the charges dropped will disappear.

The question remains though: why are people actively fighting federal agents? Common sense would suggest that you would not interfere with the apprehension of a criminal. There are plenty of videos out there showing the aftermath of those FAFO moments.

There is a reason these attacks on federal agents are happening primarily in blue states. There are not many good Samaritans who are willing to assist law enforcement in need of help. Then again, they aren’t very inclined to help anyone. Look no further than the incident in Charlotte, NC where Iryna Zarutska was murdered and her fellow passengers just looked at her and did nothing.

So, what needs to happen for these civilians to back off when ICE agents are making an arrest?

The reality is this: an ICE agent will likely need to be seriously injured or worse in order for liberal or progressive politicians to disavow further, similar actions. However, that might not happen.

The federal government has been deployed to assist in some cities like Chicago. While there has been push back on their presence, it would seem they are only there to help ICE agents and nothing more. The Posse Comitatus Act prevents the military from carrying out searches, seizures and arrests. If they are augmenting the security presence for ICE or securing their facilities, they won’t necessarily be conducting anything related to law enforcement practices.

The actions of the Democratic governors, mayors or city council members towards law enforcement are not surprising. It could be argued that they are freely showing their contempt towards federal agents because they feel the same towards local cops. The only difference is that federal agents won’t come down with the “blue flu” or experience a mass exodus of officers. These politicians know this.

At the end of the day, you may not like the policies of the government. However, it does not give you the green light to interfere with someone who is doing their job. Law enforcement, whether local or federal, are not universally loved. Yet, as a society, we cannot prevent them from making arrests. That is called aiding and abetting. Too many people are losing sight of that and are finding themselves being placed in handcuffs, too.

Stand back. Let ICE do their job. To hell with your feelings. If it’s a righteous arrest, shut up. If they made a mistake, hopefully they will own it. There is no point in getting into legal trouble because you wanted to be the hero in your story.
